Paul told the young pastor Timothy, “Do the work of an evangelist.” [1] In other words, “in addition to your leadership duties don’t forget to proclaim the Good News. Don’t forget to market.”
Now you could think to yourself, “Wait a minute!! Shouldn’t evangelism be reserved for the evangelist? I mean that’s their job!” But that’s another crucial aspect of Biblical marketing: every-one’s involved in the marketing.
Regardless of our role or calling, as believers, we’re all required to proclaim Christ to the world. We’re all involved in the marketing. Hence, with marketing your product or service, everyone should be involved not just you!
Corporate buy-in
But why isn’t EVERYONE involved. My answer no group buy-in.
If EVERYONE (or mostly everyone) isn’t sold on what you’re offering you might have a problem. Because those same people know people and will talk to those people. And those people will believe them faster than they believe your ads!
I used to work for Enterprise Rent-A-Car. They have a phenomenal customer service culture…and they take care of their employees equally well.
And that’s what I used to tell people.
Even though people left or were fired they rarely had bad things to say about the company…maybe about certain people but never the company. And even though I’m no longer an employee I’m still a customer.
Questions
Do your people believe in what you’re offering? I mean, really believe?
If not, why?
Don’t think about it!!! Go ask them yourself!
What are your thoughts??
