This book is absolutely awesome!
To me, the book was unbelievable. And I kept waiting for it to appear on the Bestsellers lists–but it never did. So I couldn’t understand WHY this had gone viral. That was until I heard the whole story…
Rick Warren,The Purpose Driven Life, and PyroMarketing
I know of only a few people who have not been touched by Pastor Warren’s book–Purpose Driven Life. When I read it I was singing its praises for months…to anybody who would listen. It was an awesome book!!
No one can deny that God exposed it to millions, but when Stielstra decided to say in addition to the move of God there was some saavy marketing, Warren objected. He went so far as to insist that all references concerning Purpose Driven Life be taken out of the book. Stielstra refused. His publisher, after a long delay, finally released the book. Warren later issued a statement saying that God deserves all credit for what took place.
No one can deny that. Stielstra doesn’t even take credit for it.
Billy Graham used marketing and advertising to get the word out about his crusades–crusades that brought hundreds of thousands of people to Christ. I believe Jesus was a Master Marketer. So if marketing was used to bless MILLIONS of people around the globe, what’s the shame?
I guess because people see marketing as a bad thing. Not realizing that marketing, at its core, is communication.
